Vegemite will soon be gluten-free

The much-loved Australian brown paste will soon release a new range with Coeliac Australia's tick of approval.

Originally made with yeast extract and malt extract derived from barley (full of gluten), the brand has now found a gluten-free alternative to add to the concoction.

On Instagram, Vegemite boasted the new range will have “the same great taste”, while being both gluten-free and FODMAP-friendly.

They haven't announced an exact hit-the-shelf date but they've promised it's“coming soon to a store near you”.

Your morning menu can now offer a fully-gf Vegemite on toast. Get ready for the folate hit.
