Tex-Mex restaurant El Camino Cantina heads to Manly Wharf

The 'Nacho Macho' at Rockpool Dining Group's El Camino Cantina.

Rockpool Dining Group will soon open a 365-seat version of its El Camino Cantina restaurant brand on Manly Wharf's new rooftop terrace.

Launching on Friday November 9, El Camino Cantina will be decked out in neon lights, murals of life-size Mexican caricatures, custom-designed flame artwork, and original art and concert posters from Australian artist Ben Brown.

The dining room will also feature reclaimed wooden doors, intricate tiles, a lattice ceiling, an internal cactus garden, bare brick and stone, rustic timber, rusted metal panels, and polished concrete floors.

And on the menu is a vibrant range of Tex-Mex options, including soft-shell tacos, chargrilled fajitas, burritos and hot buffalo wings, whether for a weekend brunch or late night dinner.

The El Camino Cantina drinks program will all be about super-sized classic and frozen margaritas, local, regional and Mexican beers, and over 100 different types of tequila and mezcal.

“There will be no better place to enjoy summer than from El Camino Cantina’s rooftop vantage point, with frozen margaritas and ice-cold Mexican beers washing down some of our fantastic Tex-Mex dishes,” says Thomas Pash, CEO of Rockpool Dining Group.

“We take a no holds barred approach to all things Tex-Mex: from the food and drinks, to the fitout and music and we’re inviting all of Manly to come and join us for a fabulous opening weekend fiesta and start to summer.”
