Sharpen your knives the Nestlé Golden Chef's Hat Award returns

The 2016 national winners of the Nestlé Golden Chef's Hat Award, Mahlet Girma and Abbey Wendland.

The longest running culinary award in Australia for young chefs, Nestlé Golden Chef's Hat Award, returns this year offering the next generation of talent the chance to test their skills, gain valuable experience and compete for a career-changing prize.

Entries are now open for chefs aged between 16 and 25. Those who taking part will enjoy mentorship from some of the industry’s top players and getting access to a national network of inspirational professionals.

The participating chefs will battle it out in various region heats, and if successful you will cook-off against fellow finalists at the nationals in Sydney this September at trade expo, Fine Food Australia.

Up for grabs are awards across entrée, main and dessert course categories. In addition, will be competing live in front of show attendees in purpose built kitchens at the national cook-off.

The winning team will be crowned the 2017 National Champions and enjoy a prize trip to Vietnam for a once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience.
