LA-based hospitality group opens first Australian restaurant on the Gold Coast

A new beachfront restaurant and bar on Surfers Paradise is crossing continents to channel coastlines everywhere, from LA to the Mediterranean.

Hyde Paradiso is the first Australian venture for LA-based Accor & sbe Entertainment Group, which owns and operates restaurants, hotels and entertainment venues across the United States and the Middle East.

The menu for the massive all-day site, created by local chef Joel Bryant, will also voyage through many countries, offering food inspired by Greek, Turkish, Moroccan, Lebanese and Italian cuisines.

“Each dish is inspired by my travels throughout Europe and the casual tapas style of service enjoyed in cities like Barcelona and Lisbon. Our food embraces the culture of social sharing, with fresh light dishes designed to complement sea views, while guests are sipping tasty cocktails and refreshing wines,” says Bryant.

The food, broken down into small, medium and large vegetable and protein dishes is all designed to share, with dishes like whole baked reef fish baked with roasted fennel, sumac, salt and pepper squid, and kale and pecorino arancini.

It’s marketed as a premium dining and boozing experience, with a global wine list, bottomless brunch, and Dom Perignon packages for $359 a head during the day.

The venue will also host local and international DJs on weekends.

Hyde Paradiso is located at Level 2, 8 The Esplanade, Surfers Paradise within Peppers Soul Surfers Paradise.
