Entries open for 2018 Savour Patissier of the Year
The Savour Patissier of the Year competition returns next year to Sydney with its biggest program to date. Professional pastry chefs from across Australia and the world are encouraged to enter to go into the running for the title and $45,000-worth prize pack.
Launched in 2016 by acclaimed pastry chef and owner of Savour Chocolate and Patisserie School, Kirsten Tibballs, the Savour Patissier of the Year has seen some of the world’s finest pastry chefs compete for the title.
This year’s competition saw competitors travel from Spain, the USA, Russia and Belgium.
The 2018 Savour Patissier of the Year competition will take place at Foodservice Australia from May 27 to 29 at the International Convention Centre Sydney.
30 finalists will take part over across four categories: tarts; eclairs sponsored by Ravifruit; entrements sponsored by Callebaut; and desserts sponsored by Bulla Family Dairy.
Tibballs is excited to see what next year's Savour Patissier of the Year will bring.
She says, "Over the past two years, the competition has continued to grow and the global attention we have received has been amazing.
"It has always been a goal of mine to provide a platform that recognises and celebrates talented pastry chefs - something I believe we have and will continue to achieve, and that makes me extremely proud."
The 2018 competition will be judged an expert panel made up of Frank Haasnoot (World Chocolate Master), Dinara Kasko (renowned pastry star from Ukraine), Jerome Landrieu (Director of Callebaut Academy in Chicago), and Paul Kennedy, (executive pastry chef at Savour School).
The winner of the 2018 Savour Patissier of the Year will receive $15,000 AUD cash and over $30,000 worth in prizes, including the trophy and title of the 2018 Savour Patissier of the Year.
