Deliveroo expands across Australia with 16 new delivery zones

Home delivery platform, Deliveroo, has announced a major expansion with the launch of 16 new delivery zones throughout the month of November.

Designed to reach an additional 1.5 million customers, the new zones encompasses Hobart, Newcastle and Cairns for the very first time, as well as Melbourne suburbs Box Hill, Doncaster, Ferntree Gully and Heidelberg, Sydney's Bankstown, Five Dock, Campsie, Hornsby and Narrabeen, Perth's Morley, Joondalup and Scarborough, and Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast.

Deliveroo Australia country manager Levi Aron says, “This expansion is an important milestone for Deliveroo in what has been a year of strong growth in the Australian market.

"Since entering the Australian market only three years ago, Deliveroo has received an overwhelmingly positive response from restaurants, riders and customers alike.

"We look forward to continuing to bring Deliveroo to an even greater number of customers throughout Australia, while providing flexible, well-paid work to even more riders, and generating new revenue streams for our restaurant partners."

With over 8,000 restaurants currently available via the delivery service, Deliveroo is hoping to increase that number by 1,200 over the next few months.

In addition, Deliveroo expects its network of 6,500 riders across the country to grow to 7,000 in the next six months. The company asserts that they each earn on average $22.00 per hour and work approximately 15 hours per week.
