Australian venues make 2018 Restaurant & Bar Design Awards shortlist

The 10th annual Restaurant & Bar Design Awards are set to be unveiled in London in October, and among this year's 257 finalists are 22 Australian venues.

Dedicated to the design of establishments around the globe, the prestigious and independent awards program includes entries from over 70 countries and includes a wide range of hospitality spaces, such as Michelin-starred restaurants, pop-ups, ships, airports, museums and burger vans.

The near 1,000 entries were whittled down to 257 projects across 34 categories from internationally acclaimed architects, interior designers, lighting designers and hospitality operators.

Of the 22 Australian venues listed, three Victorian space come out big with nominations; Baroq House and Doot Doot Doot both were recogniased with four, and Pezzo received three.

Melbourne's Baroq House has been nominated for best lighting at this year's Restaurant & Bar Design Awards.
