Australian gin wins gold at 2017 International Win and Spirits Competition

Philip Moore, distiller of the award-winning Moore's Vintage Dry Gin.

Moore’s Vintage Dry Gin has become the first Australian gin to win gold at the prestigious International Wine and Spirits Competition in London.

Made by master distiller Philip Moore at Distillery Botanica in Erina, Moore's Vintages Dry Gin is crafted from seven different botanicals from both Australia and overseas. They include Macedonian juniper, angelica from Belgium, wild lime, coriander seed, Illawarra plum, macadamia nut, and myrtle.

"This has been the holy grail for me personally," says Moore. "It’s taken me the best of ten years of trying for me to win this, constantly trying to improve and refine my craft. It’s an honour to be recognised for my endeavour."

Distillery Botanica launched in Australia in 2007. Other products made by Moore at the distillery include Mr Black and Distillery Botanica Gin.
